Volunteers Opportunities

Board of Directors Needed

WWBD Board of Directors consist of unpaid volunteers and hold a three year term. If interested in being a part of our board please submit a letter of interest to tami@brislodge.com.

Additional support is needed for the following roles:

  • Grant Writer - Grant Writer interested in assisting our non-profit in writing strong grant requests to achieve our goal of building a grief lodge in Central Minnesota. We are looking for someone that is initiative and data-driven with the ability to research, prepare, submit and manage grant proposals.
  • Donor Relations - Looking for someone that can help cultivate and solicit relationships with current and prospective donors in the community and surrounding areas. Largely looking for someone with experience in large/major gift experience.
  • Finance Manager - Finance Manager would work closely with the President and Board of Directors to manage the financial operations. We are looking for help with budgeting and implementing a financial plan that supports the building of the grief lodge. Would prefer someone with non-profit experience but not necessary.
  • Event Planner - Looking for an individual that would be interested in event planning for the three main events that we host; An Evening of Hope, Angel of Hope Candlelight Vigil & Rays of Hope Walk. This person should have an eye for detail, be creative and think outside the box. This role would have support from the already established committees for each of these events.
  • Volunteer Coordinator - Looking for someone that would help maintain two separate volunteer lists. One for individuals who are interested in supporting our cause for a wide range of tasks. The other list would be for individuals who would be interested in "companioning" with another individual that has lost in a similar way. No experience is necessary in this role but would need to be sensitive to information that is provided from those grieving a loss.
  • Marketing Manager - Looking for someone that would be interested in helping with marketing and branding of our grief lodge. This person would need to be creative and assist in developing promotional strategies to include media, social media and mailings. May need to work with printers and designers to accomplish this.
  • Administrative Tasks - There are a lot of small tasks that are available to those that might have some free time to assist on an as needed basis. These tasks may include mailings, donation pickups, etc...


These positions are all volunteer positions but with your amazing talents we can help the grieving find life-long connections so they do not have to grieve alone!

Fundraiser Support for An Evening of Hope needed:

  • Procurement Committee. The procurement committee is largely responsible in finding donations for the silent auction. The silent auction is our largest fundraising event of the year. This would be a great role for those with a diverse group of connections in the community.
  • Promotions Committee. The promotions committee is tasked with getting the word out about the event and completing any other tasks related to event promotions. This would be an excellent opportunity for creative people who enjoy writing, design, and communications.
  • Ticket Sales Committee. The ticket sales committee is responsible for selling as many tickets to An Evening of Hope as possible, both online and off. This would be a great role for outgoing volunteers that are willing to get out and promote our event.
  • Decorations Committee. Our decorations committee is looking for a team of individuals that would be in charge of coordinating aspects of the theme into the decorating of the venue. This would be a great fit for resourceful and enthusiastic volunteers who are great at thinking outside the box.
